It’s the festive season and with the New Year round the corner, drinks flow freely and there is every possibility of people getting alcohol hangover problems. Yes, we do know that we should drink within our limits, but then the party fervor makes us forget everything and we tend to go full throttle or rather full bottle! The next day we have a hangover and we regret drinking a couple of glasses more. Here is how you can both avoid and cure hangover naturally.

1. Drink water
Alcohol can dehydrate the body, causing hangover. The best way to stay hydrated is drinking lots of water to combat the dehydration.
2. Eat fruit
Eat fruit or drinks that contain fructose because it can burn the alcohol quickly. So eating fruits or drinking fruit juice may make you feel a lot better. However, note that having fruit may not ease the symptoms of a hangover, but it can speed up the metabolism to remove alcohol out of your system
3. Eat carbs (carbohydrates)
Complex carbohydrates like cereals, bread, toast etc can absorb the alcohol, boost your blood sugar level and ease the stomach
4. Do not pop a pain reliever
It is instinctive to take a pain reliever for a headache. But it can irritate your stomach. So choose the above three methods, viz; water, fruit, carbs to avoid a hangover.
