Ear discharge known as otorrhea, in medical parlance is caused due to infection in the middle ear.
Cause and symptoms of ear discharge:
The infection in the middle ear is caused due to various reasons like irritation or boils caused by a plug of wax, foreign bodies or eczema. This may lead to a discharge in the external ear.
Remedies for ear discharge:
Margosa oil: The use of Margosa oil has been found effective in the infection and inflammation of the ear. One or two drops of this oil can be put into the ear two or three times daily with beneficial results
Breast milk: The use of breast milk is a known natural remedy for inflammation of the ear. A few drops of this milk are put into the affected area and give relief. The milk of any healthy lactating woman can be beneficial
Onion: Onion is beneficial for the treatment of pus in the ear. The juice extracted from an onion should be slightly warmed and put into the ear two or three times daily. It will bring good results
Dietary conditions for ear discharge problems:
A special diet of fresh juicy fruits for three to five days is advisable. After that the patent may gradually adopt a well balanced diet with emphasis on whole grain cereals, raw or slightly colored vegetables and fresh fruit. The patient should avoid white flour sugar and all product made from them, pickles and non-veg food.
Other measures: During the initial fruit fast, a warm water enema should be used to daily clean the system. Regular exercises, outdoor games and fresh air are important. The patient should sit in the sun for fifteen minutes to allow sunlight to penetrate the inner part of the ear. This will help to stop the discharge of pus from the ear.
