In order to heal heel bone spurs,a person tends to go through alternatives like aspirin, Ibuprofen, and cortisone injections, but they can temporarily ease inflammation and foot pain, however they cannot provide a long-term solution.
Heel spurs are bony growths on the underside of the heel that typically form when your body attempts to repair bone worn down by osteoarthritis or the natural aging process. They’re often caused by pressure from being overweight, ill-fitting shoes, and activities like running—particularly (when you overdo it.
Most bone spurs aren’t painful. Make sure your doctor evaluates you for plantar fasciitis, a foot disorder characterized by inflamed ligament on the bottom of the foot. Although it shares many of the same symptoms as bone spurs, plantar fasciitis is the source of your problem.
■ Do not do high impact activities like running pain subsides or use heel cushions, orthotics(shoe inserting material)or other shoes that can prevent foot problems from aggravating.
■ See a physiotherapist to learn specific stretching and strengthening exercises that will relieve pain and stabilize your ankle and foot.
■ Prevent future foot problems by maintaining a healthy weight, wearing comfortable shoes that fit properly, and, if necessary, switching to low-impact activities, such as swimming and walking.
