There are few remedies which can be used to thin the mucus. The recovery time can be increased by taking spicy foods, garlic pills, potassium supplements and grapefruit seed extract. The nose should be flushed out regularly. One great way to do this involves taking some baking soda, table salt and couple of cups of warm water. This mixture should be sniffed and then the nose should be blown. Another home remedy for sinus involves drinking two spoons of raw vinegar every day until the infection is completely treated.
