If a pet is ill, then it might try to stay or hide in quiet and dark place. It is a sign that they are experiencing some sort of discomfort and pain. It can be easily noticed if the pet is usually contended and happy when it is with the family.

Pets, especially cats/dogs complain very less and because of not being able to express themselves verbally, the symptoms of their problems remain unknown and they tend to close themselves away in some dark place.

Therefore, it becomes the responsibility of the owner to be aware regarding any changes seen in their behavior.

Some of the following symptoms and signs of illnesses in pets can be a warning for something fatal and they should be immediately taken to the veterinarian when spotted:

  • Excessive shaking of head
  • Foul smell in their breath
  • Bloated abdomen
  • Blood in faeces, vomit or urine
  • Difficulty in breathing, bluish or pale pink gums
  • Difficulty in walking, seizure or continuing cough
  • Disorientation, diarrhea, constant vomiting and extreme lethargy

The aforementioned symptoms and signs of illness in pet animals are very few examples of the signs that a pet might exhibit.
