Vitamins are organic compounds found in nutrients required for growth of organisms in the body of the living being. There are 13 vitamins within the human body. Since the human body does not store the vitamins continuously there should be dietary supplements for getting vitamins. Vitamin D is only one vitamin which act as hormone in the body and crucial for health.

1. Low vitamin D causes problem for every ill patients

4. It is fatal for pregnant women
If there is low vitamin D present in pregnant woman then there is possibility of getting diseases like preeclampsia and gestational diabetes. Researchers predict this as a cause of most obese children in USA.
5. It inclines mental agility
Since vitamin D is associated with hormonal activity scientists believe that it is also connected to protection of neurons in the brain. But scientists have cautioned against moving in sun to avoid skin cancer.
6. It cant fight cold
The people with less vitamin D cant fight common disease like cold as compared to people with higher vitamin D efficiency. From a scientific study it was found out that if one with high vitamin D suffers with respiratory infection then two with low vitamin D suffer with that.
Vitamin D is not only connected to our physical health but also to mental health. It is found out that vitamin D is less in a girl in comparison to boys of same age. For this cause the health authorities have doubled the dose of vitamin D to babies in recent times.
