Overweight women who want to become pregnant are in a difficult position because on one hand, her fertility can be affected if she is overweight but if she goes for weight loss, it can result in irregular ovulation, even though she may improve the chances of being fertile. A woman needs to strike a fine balance between getting pregnant while having an apt body weight.
One of the first things that women have to do if they want to be pregnant is to lose weight in a steady manner. This may be very tough on you because you do not want to delay another cycle and are keen to have a baby. But then you have to tell yourself that you will have delays if you are overweight. It thus makes more sense to get in better shape first.
A gradual weight loss for women is possible if they go for a carefully regulated diet. The most decisive thing to do is get rid of all surplus and unhealthy foods from your diet. Refined flours, polyunsaturated fats and sugars should be reduced. Add a lot of fruits and vegetables to your diet. Substitute whole grain flours for refined flours since carbohydrates are very important.
Fruits and vegetables being low in calories have good amount of vitamins and enzymes with least calories. Another way to attain measured weight loss in women is to exercise. Do not make the blunder of exercising too strenuously because this will reduce your ability to conceive a child. Do some light cardio exercises like jogging or brisk walking. Remember that your body needs some amount of fat to get pregnant. This is the best combination of ways that can achieve safe weight loss for women just before they try to conceive a baby.
