What causes itchy rashes ?
Itchy rash can occur on any part of the body, causing irritation and inflammatory sensation in the affected area.
Different skin condition triggers the rashes to appear on the skin. One of such skin condition is scaly patches of skin. Scaly patches may occur due to some infection or sometime without any infection. One of the commonly found scaly patches disease which people suffers from widely all over the world is eczema.
One of the most common forms of eczema is Atopic Dermatitis. Atopic means hereditary diseases caused due to some allergy and dermatitis means inflammation of the skin. Eczema may occur during childhood as well. The symptoms are scaly scalp, legs, cheek skin, arms and itchy legs. With age this problem may grow and the scaly patches may spread to the other body parts as well as all over the body and give itchy rash patches.
In most cases, eczema is said to cure on its own, however there lies chances that it will re-occur. The research also says that food habit does not affect eczema and any change in food is of little help in curing or treating the condition of eczema.
Weather condition may affect eczema to great extent. Be it a summer heat or chilly cold, in both the extremities of weather the eczema patient has to suffer the most. Because of the inflammation that weather condition triggers there appear itchy rashes over the affected body parts. The rashes look swollen, red and sometimes cracked, which may release some fluids.
How to treat and prevent itchy rashes
Eczema is treated by reducing the inflammation caused on the skin by using some strength steroids in the form of creams which contain hydrocortisone. Some patients are prescribes non-steroid creams like tacrolimus (Protopic) and pimecrolimus (Elidel). An alternative step taken to suppress the rashes is using the tap water mixed with Burow’s solutions, which helps in drying up the itchy rash.
Since, the condition of eczema outbreak occurs in long time frames, it is most frequent during childhood. One must take extra caution to keep one’s body hygienic in such conditions.
