Diabetes Type 2 Symptoms

The symptoms of Type 2 diabetes are not very different from Type 1 diabetes. And like the Type 1 diabetes the symptoms of Type 2 diabetes usually does unnoticed until the patient face some serious problems. The growing process of the diabetes is very slow because the sugar level in the blood reduces very slowly and that’s why the patients do not notice the changes quickly. At least 33% diabetes patients have no idea about the presence of the dieses in their body.

All the symptoms are depended on the sugar level in the bloodstream as it is the only cause of the diabetes.

The starting

At the starting level of the Type 2 diabetes, the patients face the same problems as the Type 1 diabetes. Among them the most common and important ones are:

More frequent urination.

This is the first and most common method to detect diabetes to general people. The reason for urination is the increased glucose level in the blood. Urine is the most natural way of reducing the extra glucose from the blood.

Thirst

No matter how much water the patient drinks, he always feels thirsty. That’s because the extended sugar in the bloodstream suck out the fluids from the tissues and so the body needs water constantly.

Hungry

The patient of Type 2 diabetes will always be hungryThis is occur because the sugar in the blood is does not work to produce energy for the body and does not provide enough elements to fulfill all the needs. So even after eating regular meals, the patient may feel hungry after a little while.

Weight loss

The sugar stores in the blood do not provide enough support in the muscles and that reduce the weight of the patient.

Tiredness or fatigue

As the glucose in the bloodstream does not provide enough energy to the body, it makes the patient tired. And because of this, a Type 2 diabetes patient always feels tiredness or fatigue.

Blurry vision

Blurry vision is another common symptom of Type 2 diabetes patient. When the sugar takes out the fluid from the tissues of the body, it does not leave the eye tissues and that causes blurry vision of the patient.

All of these symptoms can be seen in the primary stage of the dieses. If the patient does not get enough treatment, his condition may become more severe and then he starts to show some new and additional symptoms.

Increased healing time

Normal cuts or bruises in the body take more time to heal than the normal time. The same thing goes for infections; even if it is a minor one.

Numbness

The patient frequently feels numbness in different body parts; especially in hands and feet.

More prone to genital infections

The Type 2 diabetes patients occasionally become victims of genital infections. That includes yeast infection in the vaginal area, bladder infection and gum infection. This is due to more content of glucose in the urine and the chances for bacteria attacking body increases.

Some of the Type 2 diabetes patients may gain darker body skin; especially in the joints like armpits or neck.


The Type 2 diabetes mellitus is closely related with some other disease like high blood pressure. So they have more chance of heart failure, kidney damage and eyes damage. They may also face problems with nerves and blood vessels. In these cases, the patients may grow some additions signs like tingling, pain, swelling in body parts and numbness.  He may have problem with eye sight and may see flashy lights, spots etc. Some of these patients may have chest pain or breathing problem.
