What is Eczema Herpeticum?

One of the most fatal skin diseases is Eczema Herpeticum. Usually caused by a virus, this disease usually occurs at damaged skin locations which were prior affected with eczema (rashes on the skin) or atopic dermatitis (particular inflammation produced on the skin). It can affect multiple parts of the body including liver, lungs, brain and eyes and if left untreated, this problem can even result in Eczema Herpeticumdeath. Although eczema is very common among both children and adults, it should never be left untreated.Skin Disease Eczema Herpiticum

However, even after many medical discoveries, there is no medical cure for this skin disease. The only cure which the doctor or a dermatologist suggests is to relieve the symptoms. Many practitioners are recommending natural methods or products to alleviate the problem as conventional creams/medications contain chemicals which can intoxicate the disease.

Eczema Herpeticum Symptoms

Usual symptoms accompanied by eczema include flaky and dry skin which is the breeding ground for itch. It is generally caused by asthma, allergic conditions, genetic and hereditary reasons. If a patient affected with eczema suffers an itch and scratches it, then the dry skin would start breaking and bleeding. If these wounds aren’t treated, they would get affected with virus and this causes eczema herpeticum.

Eczema Herpeticum Treatment

So far, the only treatment for this problem is to check the allergens which had caused the problem. The allergens could have had been environmental, from used toiletries or food irritants. These can be known by doing a physical examination or biopsy (to check whether it is eczema or not). Once the irritant is known, then all efforts should be done to avoid them.

One can moisturize the flaky/dry skin so that it turns smooth and soft as this skin won’t itch. The best time to moisturize the skin is after bathing. But, the moisturizer and the soap used should be hypo-allergic. The aforementioned tips are much safer and cheaper than the traditional medications. It is seen that conventional medication doesn’t permanently cure the eczema herpeticum (skin disease); in fact they are seen to cause more trouble.
