Our sense of sight is probably the most important and more complex of all the five senses.  It makes us see how beautiful the world we are all living in. Without our vision, we cannot appreciate all the other senses as well.

Blurry Vision Causes

  • Diabetic retinopathy- a complication of diabetes mellitus
  • Eye conditions such as Glaucoma (there is an increase pressure in the eye), Cataract, macular degeneration
  • Brain tumor
  • Optic neuritis
  • Temporal arthritis
  • Migraine headaches

These are some of the common causes of blurry vision. Although fatigue and certain medications can also lead to blurry of vision.

Medications that can cause blurry vision are anticholinergics, anti-hypertensive, anti histamine, phenothiazines and also medications for malaria and tuberculosis.

Therefore, before taking any medication, one should be properly understand the possible side effects so as not to be alarmed when blurry vision occurs.

Sudden Blurry Vision

The increase in glucose level in the blood causes the eyes to swell thus resulting to changes in vision.

Glaucoma, Cataracts and Retinopathy are the 3 major eye problems related to diabetes and should be further evaluated.

Blurry Vision Treatment

Blurry vision can have a wide variety of treatment options that also depends on the factors or the cause of the condition. If blurring vision is due to diabetes, controlling blood sugar levels to correct the condition. This can also be done by maintaining a normal blood glucose level that ranges from 60-110mg/dl. In the case of pregnancy, wearing of glasses can be helpful. This does not only help clear visions, but clearing vision also prevents accidents.

Most importantly, preventing, correcting and treating blurry vision greatly rely on the individual to eat healthy foods such as those rich in Vitamin A, which is known to be a vitamin for the eyes.
